conditions générales de vente
terms of sale
These terms govern every sale made through handsonclothing.store to a consumer. They are accepted at checkout before an order is placed, and the version in force is the one published on the day of the order.
1. Scope
The seller is HANDSON, trading as Atelier Brut, whose registered office and identifiers are published on the legal notice. These terms apply to the sale of clothing to consumers, delivered to the countries listed on the delivery page.
There is no account to open, no subscription, no members’ tier and no recurring charge of any kind. Every purchase is a single, completed sale.
2. Essential characteristics of the goods
The catalogue holds 43 garments and sets. The essential characteristics of each are published in full on its own product page and comprise, as applicable: cloth weight in grams per square metre; measured abrasion in Martindale rub cycles together with the test method; tear strength in newtons together with the test method; pilling grade and colour transfer grade together with their methods; the reinforcement points, drawn and listed in words; shrinkage behaviour, whether the cloth was pre-shrunk and whether size figures are pre-wash or post-wash; the material of any metal parts; fibre composition; care instructions; and country of manufacture.
- Where a measured figure has not been produced for a cloth, no figure is published for it. The product page states this in the place a figure would otherwise appear.
- Flat measurements are given in centimetres with a tolerance of ±1 cm. Sizes follow the EU scale.
- Photographs show the garment as supplied and, in a second frame, a representation of the same garment after long use. Reproduction of colour depends on your screen.
3. Prices
Prices are given in euro, all taxes included, and range from €25 to €299. The price applicable to an order is the price displayed at the moment the order is placed. Delivery is charged separately and is shown in the basket and again in the order summary before the order is confirmed.
- Currency
- Euro (EUR). You are charged in euro.
- Tax
- All prices include French VAT at the applicable rate.
- Delivery
- Included on orders of €150 or more; otherwise a flat €6.90.
- Other charges
- None. We add no handling fee and no surcharge.
- Statement descriptor
- The charge appears under the trading name Atelier Brut.
4. Promotions and set prices
Where a promotion runs, its conditions are stated with it. The following are the only forms of promotion used on this site.
- Delivery included above a threshold. Applied automatically at €150. No code needed.
- Set prices. A set is sold at a single price, shown alongside the reference price against which the reduction is measured. That reference price is the sum of the current single prices of the pieces contained in the set, as listed on this site.
- A first-order code, where one is issued. Single use, one per customer, not combinable with another code, with its validity period stated on issue.
We do not run countdowns, we do not display a struck-through price on a single garment, and we do not present a reference price we cannot substantiate.
5. Placing an order
You choose your garments and sizes, review the basket, then enter delivery details at checkout. Before the order is confirmed you are shown the goods, the sizes, the unit and total prices including VAT, the delivery charge, the total to pay, the expected dispatch time, the right of withdrawal and the statutory guarantees. The order is placed by confirming after that summary, having accepted these terms and the personal data notice.
A confirmation carrying an order reference is sent by email. The contract is formed when that confirmation is issued. An order may be refused where the goods are unavailable, where a delivery address falls outside the listed countries, or where an order is manifestly not made by a consumer for personal use.
You may cancel an order at no cost at any time before it is dispatched by writing to support@handsonclothing.store with the reference. After dispatch, the right of withdrawal below applies.
6. Payment
Payment is taken at the final step of checkout, in euro, in a secure environment. The methods available to you are displayed at that step, before any amount is taken. No card or account details are requested on any other page of this site and none are stored by us at any point.
The order is prepared once payment is confirmed. Where a payment is refused or reversed, the order is suspended and you are notified at the email address given. Late payment on any amount properly due carries interest at the statutory rate, together with the fixed recovery indemnity provided for by the French Commercial Code.
7. Delivery
Orders are dispatched within two working days. Delivery times by destination, the carrier used and the countries served are published on the delivery page, which forms part of these terms.
Goods travel at our risk until they are handed to you or to a person you have designated at the delivery address. Check the parcel on arrival: if it is visibly damaged, note it with the carrier and tell us within three working days so we can act on it.
Where delivery has not taken place within thirty days of the order, or by any later date agreed with you, you may cancel the order by written notice and be refunded in full within fourteen days of that notice.
8. Right of withdrawal
You have 14 days from the day you or a person you designate takes physical possession of the goods to withdraw from the contract, without giving a reason and without penalty. The procedure, the condition the goods must be in, who bears the return cost and the standard withdrawal form are all set out on the withdrawal page, which forms part of these terms.
9. Statutory guarantees
Two statutory guarantees apply to everything sold here, independently of each other and at no cost to you: the guarantee of conformity and the guarantee against hidden defects. They are set out separately, with the periods, remedies and how to invoke each, on the guarantees page, which forms part of these terms.
Repairs outside those guarantees may be offered as a paid service. Where they are, the price and the turnaround are stated before the work begins. No repair service is offered here without limit of time or cost.
10. Producer responsibility and sorting
Textile clothing sold in France falls under extended producer responsibility. Our unique identifier is Pending registration and is also published on the legal notice.
The environmental characteristics of each garment are published on its own product page. Sorting instructions, the sorting mark and what to do with a garment at the end of its life are on sorting and recycling.
11. Personal data
The data collected to process an order, what it is used for, the legal basis, how long it is kept, your rights over it and how to complain to the supervisory authority are set out on the personal data page. Cookie use is covered on the cookies page.
12. Disputes, mediation and applicable law
Write to us first: most matters are settled directly and quickly. Our address is 14 Rue Chauveau-Lagarde, 75008 Paris, France, and support@handsonclothing.store reaches a person who reads it.
If that does not resolve it, you may refer the matter free of charge to a consumer mediator, and you may use the European online dispute resolution platform. Both routes, with the conditions that apply to them, are on the mediation page.
These terms are governed by the law of France. Nothing in them removes the protection a consumer enjoys under the mandatory rules of the country in which they are habitually resident.
