A reinforced point carries a second layer or a denser stitch. It moves the wear from one layer to two; it does not make the area exempt from wear. Where you work hardest is still where the garment will change first.

Twice the weight of the standard flannel shirt, with a ground dense enough to carry an abrasion figure as well as a pilling grade.

Elbows carry a second layer under the brushed face.

Cut on the jacket block rather than the shirt block, so it sits over a shirt without pulling.
