A reinforced point carries a second layer or a denser stitch. It moves the wear from one layer to two; it does not make the area exempt from wear. Where you work hardest is still where the garment will change first.

Crotch gusset retained. Knees are single-layer on this pattern; if you kneel to work, take one of the double-knee trousers instead.
