Figures are the values declared by the mill under the named method. They describe cloth under a laboratory test, not a garment on a job. 260 g/m², 18,000 cycles, 2 reinforced areas.

where it is reinforced

Reinforced at

  1. 01ElbowsElbows carry a second layer of the same cloth, stitched through.
  2. 02Pocket edgesPocket edges are bartacked at both corners.

A reinforced point carries a second layer or a denser stitch. It moves the wear from one layer to two; it does not make the area exempt from wear. Where you work hardest is still where the garment will change first.

in detail

The ripstop grid is a heavier yarn woven in at intervals. It does not make the cloth harder to abrade; it makes a started tear stop at the next grid line.

That is why this piece carries the highest tear figures in the line and a modest abrasion figure. Both are published above.

Four pockets, two at the chest with bellows, two at the hip.
